Every training session provides veterans with the opportunity to gain world class caddie training. Living and training alongside fellow veterans, building a supportive team and growing support networks to aid in recovery and build everlasting friendships.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS
Many of those who attend and complete Caddie School Programs are referred from veteran organisation such as The On Course Foundation. We are also delighted to hear from you direct and ask that you complete the enquiry form below. You will complete a brief application form then meet virtually with one of our mentors to discuss your answers This allows them to get to know you better. You will also complete a mental wellbeing form to ensure the course will be a good fit for you. Your application will be considered alongside others and then we will let you know if we can offer you a place on a future program.

ARRIVAL
Following our invitation, the soldiers arrive in Scotland, where they are met by our team and brought to our fine home on the outskirts of the home of golf, St Andrews.
It's normal to be anxious, we understand this, it is a big step and we thank the attendees for their trust in us.
Travel arrangements will be made by our team when all required paperwork is complete. The Kohler Home for Soldiers, your home for the duration of the course, is on situated on the outskirts of St Andrews in Scotland, the home of golf! Our Team will be on hand to welcome you and help you settle in. You will meet the rest of the group, the mentors and house manager and start to build bonds that will last way beyond this program.

TRAINING
Under the instruction of our Caddie Master the veterans each caddie for golfers of various abilities and walks of life. With ongoing encouragement, support and training, confidence and belief quickly grows.
A full training schedule will be shared with you prior to your arrival in Scotland. All caddie training will take place at the stunning Duke's Golf Course under the tuition of the Caddie Master. There is a minimal but essential period of classroom instruction but the bulk of the training is progressive, practical work, out on the course. You will normally caddie on every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday with groups of six golfers from surrounding golf clubs and organisations.
The Caddie Master will provide constructive feedback allowing you to learn and thrive. On Wednesdays you have the opportunity to play some of the outstanding courses in the surrounding area.

THE FINAL TEST
The Graduation represents the final day of the course. A competition by invitation of our President, David Scott. Unlike all other competitions, it is the winning caddie's name that is engraved on the Cup.
Having completed the training course successfully you will be presented with "The Herb Kohler Coin"in memory of the late Herb Kohler whose generosity made the program possible.

GRADUATION CEREMONY
Every attendee of Caddie School for Soldiers has completed the training successfully and was presented with 'The Herb Kohler Coin,' in memory of the late Herb Kohler whose generosity made the programme possible.
Although not all graduates go on to work as caddies, those who have gone before you report that their time spent with us have benefitted them both physically and mentally. Some say it has changed their life forever.
